This article by Cathy Farnworth and co-authors from 2018 provides the results of a research of the effects of the GALS methodology to strengthen gender equality and improve livelihoods of smallholder farmers in Malawi. These farmers are involved in the National Smallholder Farmers’ Association of Malawi (NASFAM). It touches on issues such as intra-household gender relations, agency, gender division of labour, women’s social standing in the community, decision making and mobilisation of assets.
