We did it: online GALS workshop December 2020

What was originally planned as a field-based GALS introduction workshop turned into an online workshop because of the Corona crisis. The heat was on when over 100 people registered! The workshop took place on the 15th and 17th of December 2020. It aimed to contribute to scaling up of GALS in selected IFAD supported programmes. Theory was offered on what GALS entails; participants where guided to practice with visioning and a vision road journey; best practices and principles were discussed; and lessons were shared about the collaboration between Empower@scale  partners and IFAD. Facilitators were based in Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya and the Netherlands. Participants came from many different places. See the infographics report below.

On the first day 71 participants attended from IFAD-supported programmes, and 55 attended on the second day. On Day 2 one of the participants proudly shared her personal Vision Road Journey. One of the highlights was that champions from rural communities in Nigeria shared their testimonies during the workshop. Their peers from Kenya and Uganda also contributed.
