<title>AmbAyoOmowu changed the description of the group Nigeria national page from "Scaling up household methodologies from thousands to millions – Empower @ Scale (May 2018 – April 2022)

Empower @ Scale is a four-year project implemented in 3 countries (Nigeria, Uganda and Kenya) with an ultimate objective of scaling up the use of Gender Action Learning System (GALS).
This is done through establishing a network of self-sustaining Empowerment Learning Centers (ELCs), which are sources of information on Gender Action Learning Systems. In Nigeria, there are two functional ELCs (Ruwawayo and Kagbu ELCs) located in Lafia and Nasarawa Eggon LGAs respectively both in Nasarawa State (Northern Nigeria).

Why Gender Action Learning System (GALS)

GALS is a community-led household methodology that uses visual diagrams to empower women and men to take action against societal norms that drive gender inequality and plan for their futures together. GALS uses tools such as the vision road journey and the gender balance tree to address power imbalances right from the house hold unit. Using the different tools, men and women discuss and share roles in their households and jointly plan for their development. GALS is also used by different stakeholders and institutions during planning and programming to identify and address gender and power issues in order to achieve inclusive development." to "Scaling up household methodologies from thousands to millions – Empower @ Scale (May 2018 – April 2022)
